Northwest Airlines Hired Private Commandos During Oberoi Siege
Northwest Airlines hired "two different civilian extraction teams" to get its employees out of the Oberoi-Trident hotel in Mumbai during the terrorist siege. That private hostage-rescue contractors were working alongside Indian commandos has not been reported elsewhere.

Somalia “About to Flatline”
A fantastic article on Somalia by Jeffrey Gettleman, reporting from Nairobi, Kenya for The New York Times. Now that the Ethiopians have begun pulling out of Somalia, Gettlemen postulates that the country will surely become what Afghanistan was to Islamic fundamentalism in the 1990s: a petri dish for terror.

Mumbai Terrorists Were on Amphetamines
Cpt. Brandon del Pozo of the NYPD Intelligence Division says the Mumbai terrorists were pumped up on amphetamines and steroids to enhance their murderous performances. Del Pozo is on the ground in Mumbai and his information comes from forensic tests. ABC's The Blotter has the story.
