6 Arab-Speaking Passengers Now Acting Part of Plaintiff
By Annie Jacobsen in category Airport Security & Screening
The six Iraqi natives suing American Airlines for "hundreds of thousands of dollars" — alleging racial profiling — worked as actors for Defense Training Systems. Now they're acting the part of plaintiff. As made evident in the police report I posted yesterday, the men should be the ones being sued by American Airlines for the expenses incurred in the incident, not vice versa. Same as people who start forest fires get sent a damages bill.
Here's the actors' job description from Defense Training Systems:
Opposing Force (OPPFOR): DTS's operations personnel have extensive combat experience, many with advanced Special Forces certifications. This real-world combat experience allows our staff to provide a trained OPPFOR that realistically recreates the tactics employed by insurgent forces. Whether utilizing SESAMS marking bullets, MILES gear, or blank-firing weapons our OPPFOR role players provide high-intensity, strategically placed force-on-force simulations that help better prepare teams for real-world encounters.
Advanced Iraqi Staff Training: Five day operations from 0800 to 2000 hours. Provide 5-8 man Iraqi Staff role players with security detachment. Scenario requires command to organize the staff, teach basic staff functions, set up an operations & intelligence center, and plan a complete operation. Formal language and cultural training for two hours of each day.
