On Tuesday (July 24), formal charges were read in a court in Trinidad to three JFK terror plotters in a move to extradite the men to the United States to stand trial.

Trinidadian Abdul Kareem Ibrahiim, 62, of Cane farm, Tacarigua and Guyanese national Abdel Nur, 57, are both wanted on six charges while Abdul Kadir, 56, a former Opposition member of Guyana's parliament, is wanted on seven charges.

Ibrahiim, Kadir and Nur are wanted in the US for an alleged plot to blow up fuel tanks at New York's JFK airport.

A fourth man — and the alleged leader of the plot — Guyanese-born American Russell Defreitas, 63, has been charged with the same terrorism crimes. He is being held in police custody in New York.
