I was on Neil Cavuto's show on FOX News earlier today discussing the JFK Airport terror plot. As I have written about here at The Aviation Nation, and discussed on television, an alarming number of convicted and indicted terrorists around the globe are surfacing with "airport worker" on their resume. This includes Russell "Mohammed" Defreitas, alleged mastermind of the JFK plot who was a cargo worker at JFK. It also includes others. 

  • Fort Dix terror suspect Mohamed Ibrahim Shnewer was employed as a taxi cab driver at the Philadelphia airport when he was arrested.
  • Convicted fertilizer terrorist Jawad Akbar worked at Gatwick Airport in 1999-2000.
  • One of the British jihadists in last summer’s US-UK, Bonjinka-style plot had a Heathrow Airport security clearance. 
  • Convicted dirty-bomb plotter, Dhieren Barot, head of a British al-Qaeda cell and recently sentenced to life in an English prison, worked at Heathrow Airport from 1991-1995. 
  • According to FBI Special Agent Thomas Powers, a baggage handler at Logan Airport in Boston in 1996 was a known member of the terrorist organization Hezbollah. 

You can read earlier posts here and here. Is this surprising? Not at all. Download the Al Qaeda Manual from the FBI's website, (a jihad manual found by British police inside an Al Qaeda members home in Manchester, England) and you will see that jihadists are encouraged to recruit brothers who work at "borders, airports and seaports."
