Aljeezera is reporting that liquid explosives discovered in a refugee camp in Lebanon are tied to the London planes plot of August 2006.

"After nearly six months of extensive search by U.S. and European intelligence agencies for lethal 'liquid explosives,' that followed a foiled plot to attack passenger aircraft on flights across the Atlantic, the Lebanese authorities reported having uncovered 31 chemical explosive charges in south Lebanon."

The article does not make clear how the explosives might be tied to the plot. The Aljeezera piece also quotes a source as saying that the explosives were "assembled and awaiting a squad to smuggle them to another location." The report comes four days after Debkafile reported similar information.

"The plot for 10 airliners to crash over US cities by detonating liquid explosives, hidden in hand luggage, disrupted British and transatlantic air traffic last August. Six months later, the Lebanese police report the confiscation of the first batch ever found anywhere of these explosive devices at the S. Lebanese Palestinian camp of Ain Hilwa, near Sidon port."

The Lebanese police operation is reported to be the first bust of liquid explosives anywhere in the world.
